Business Development Consultant

Our client a leading technology firm, is looking for a Business Development Consultant to increase is software and web-application sales in its key markets: Brussels, UK and Malta.

You will be responsible for securing new business and managing relationships with existing clients.    

Responsibilities:  
  • Identify and contact new potential customers, inorder to generate new business in the field of software sales. This is done in three primary markets: (i) Brussels(EU business), (ii) United Kingdom, and (iii) Malta. 
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with other ICT firms which jointly with the company may offer services to 3rd party organizations.    
  • Maintain  relationships with existing clients and rope in new business.    
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.    
  • Protect the company's value by keeping information confidential.    
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.    
  • Propose intelligent and innovative business solutions to our customers and prospects.    
  • Prepare proposals (or responses to international tenders) and diligently follow through with customers. Proposals require Business Analysis skills so as to solve organizational information problems and requirements through analyzing requirements; designing systems and recommending system controls and protocols.    
  • Maintain and update all contact information using the supplied CRM package.    
  • Represent the company at events and conferences as a participant, or a speaker.    
  • Meet sales targets.     


Specific duties may include (but are not limited to) the below:    
  • Business Analysis, including: (i) Assisting with the business case,(ii) Eliciting requirements, (iii) Translating and simplifying requirements, (iv) Requirements management and communication, (v) Requirements analysis.    
  • Evaluate potential software solutions, including off­the-shelf and open source components, and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements of the client.    
  • Create functional requirements in use cases. Coordinate requirements walk-through and sign-offs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs.    
  • Contribute to project plans.    
  • Initial Account management with clients to discuss their business needs whilst proposing novel ideas in line with the company's services.    
  • Canvassing new business opportunities by liaising with clients as well as following up.    
  • Maintain excellent relationships with key accounts.       
  • Generate new business and acquire new leads.    
  • Client liaison and follow‐up service.    
  • Job costing and financial analysis.    
  • Preparing diligent and analytical sales reports.    
  • Managing internal company processes to ensure the expectations set with the client are achieved.  

 

Skills & Requirements:

  • A  Bachelors (preferably Masters) degree in ICT.
  • 2+ years of proven experience in Business Analysis. Specifically: (a) Experience working with and interviewing customers and stakeholders to surface detailed requirements information, (b) Excellent listening skills to understand and interpret customer and stakeholder responses, and (c) Strong facilitation skills to lead requirements and user story sessions.
  • 4+ years of proven experience in sales (business development), reaching a minimum target of €200,000  in sales turnover annually.
  • 6+ years of demonstrable experience in the ICT (software not hardware) industry.
  • Strong organizational skills  with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks at a time.
  • Experience in the use and sale of key CMS software technologies such as WordPress or SiteCore.
  • Understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Ability to complete technical documents and able to iterate through the client's requirements in phases.
  • Must have a high level understanding of Web based software technology in a Microsoft environment.
  • A current Maltese drivers license.
  • One signed, positive reference from a previous employer.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written in English and Maltese
  • Exceptional writing and presenting skills.
  • Industry certification in related fields (such as ITIL, Prince2 or Scrum) will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in responding to international tenders (whether for public or private sector) will be considered an asset.
  • A Bachelors degree in Business (Administration) or Commerce or a related field will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in an agile/scrum software development environment a plus will be an asset.
