Learning and Development Executive

Our client in the Hospitality industry is looking for an experienced,ambitious and determined Learning and Development Executive to join their team.

Responsabilities:
  • To engage with the Corinthia team, focusing within the organization and providing comprehensive learning and development to all employees to support the achievement of corporate and individual vision and goals
  • To effectively plan, research, design and deliver new talent initiatives
  • To assist and work closely with the Human Resources Team to operate an effective and efficient HR Department to ensure innovation and compliance with best practice, Corinthia policies and current legislation
  • Attends seminars, webinars and participates in on-line forums in areas of benefit to the business. To share the latest Learning & Development philosophies with the HR team, HoDs and/or colleagues as appropriate, to enhance the development of individuals and the business
  • Is present within the operation on a daily basis, demonstrating an enquiring mind to identify talent development, quality and procedural needs and to support departmental trainers and HoDs within their work environment. Adopts a flexible approach to working hours, observing the business at different times of day and during different days of the week and at weekends/during important events as required
  •  Plans, presents and ensures provision for all annual required Learning & Development activity in line with business needs and projections
  • Is an effective talent development ambassador, communicating all future and past L&D initiatives imaginatively and effectively through all colleague communication channels and media, as appropriate (e.g. HOD meetings, Quarterly full team meetings, Colleague recognition and award ceremonies, Talent Development noticeboards, colleague social media pages, emails and texts, colleague restaurant flyers etc.)
  • Analyses and evaluates all L&D activity on a monthly basis. Communicates to executives, HODs and colleagues the success of various L&D initiatives, demonstrating their positive impact on the business
  • Communicates openly with the Executive and HoD teams where there is cause for concern or where successes are to be celebrated
  • Networks with HoDs and Executives to ensure an effective flow of communication and to offer support, coaching, mentoring and guidance as required 
  • Works with the HR Manager to set all L&D objectives and works with effective timelines and priority management mechanisms to deliver these successfully. • Creates innovative, engaging and inspiring L&D programmes to be presented personally, by departmental trainers and operational coaches.
  • Communicates and plans for the co-ordination and delivery of all L&D initiatives, including careful organising and scheduling of training space both in-house or externally where required. To be responsible for overseeing the setup of equipment for all L&D programmes
  • Works with the Group Learning, Development and Wellbeing Director for CHI to support the roll out of company-wide talent development initiatives. Supports the piloting new initiatives at Corinthia as required
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that all statutory training is delivered in an effective and timely manner by external providers or through elearning as appropriate
  • Ensuring that colleagues are actively pursuing their stated career or development aspirations and that their achievements are recorded
  • Ensure that departmental succession plans are being supported by team member development and internal recruitment activities 
  • Ensures that all training administration is accurately formatted, completed and up to date. To engage operational coaches in entering of training records and L&D material on a shared L&D database
  • To issue monthly reports on all training activity
Requirements:
  • Hospitality, Travel or Tourism experience
  • Worked previously in an operational hotel role
  • Skills in project planning and delivery
  • Willing to travel
  • Ability to take charge and solve problems
  • Effective planning
  • Effective time and priority management 
  • Fluency in written & spoken English
  • Flexible in hours to meet the requirements of the role
  • A clear and concise communication
  • Strong and confident personality coupled with the ability to work as part of a team
