Director of Operations

Our client in the Hospitality industry is currently looking for a Director of Operations to join their team. The selected candidate will assist in ensuring cost-effective management of the hotel and will be actively present and in daily hotel operations with an emphasis on quality and guest services.

Responsibilities

  • building up effective working relationships with senior executives
  • supporting the strategic management
  • ensuring that the operational departments are appropriately staffed
  • Overseeing all running food  & beverage operations aswell as the running of all rooms division together with the Front of house manager, the Executive Housekeeper and the Guest Service Manager
  • Oversee the running of the spa operation in partnership with the Spa Manager 
  • Oversee the running of the security department in partnership with the Security, Health and Safety Manager 
  • Oversee the running of the groups & events operation in partnership with the Groups & Events Manager 
  • Ensure all required supplies are ordered in advance and quality checked 
  • Act as General Manager in the absence of the General Manager Assist the General Manager in representing the company where required 
  •  Use the Balanced Scorecard system to drive departmental performance to achieve hotel goals

Skills and Experiences required

  • Have a minimum 2 years’ experience of operating in a top international hotel (same star rating) as a Hotel Manager or Director of Operations 
  •  Have a proven track record of leading multi-cultural and different functional teams 
  • Have strong operational background 
  •  Be fluent in English. Other languages are an advantage especially if spoken in country where candidate will be posted 
  •  Have strong F&B knowledge/background  
  • Be highly knowledgeable of the international hotel competitive market and keep pace with change acquiring knowledge and skills as the business develops
  •  Have a deep understanding of luxury services/offerings within the global hotel market
