Chief Financial Officer

Our client in the Finance sector is currently looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join their team. The chosen candidate should swiftly develop a clear understanding of our company’s core values and culture and ensure that this is reinforced with all our staff compliment.

Responsabilities:

Planning

  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and strategic initiatives
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans related to finance
  • Develop financial and tax strategies
  • Manage budgeting processes
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  • Identifying areas of improvement within the global group financial systems and suggesting solid clear procedures for improvements.

Operations

  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior management team
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team ensuring an effective and smooth running and integration of the teams; Identifying areas of development within the teams, delegating and supporting the respective management of both teams and their members.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO/ Partners and members of the senior management team
  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
  • Assist the CEO / Partners in drafting of prospective operating budgets and determining cost effectiveness/analysis of prospective service delivery.
  • Ensuring that the organisational vision is translated into effective financial strategy, policy, procedures and systems.
  • Ensuring risks are recognised and appropriate standards of governance and control are maintained.

 


Risk Management
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
  • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

 

Requirements:

 

  • Be in possession of an ACCA qualification or similar relevant MQF Level 7 qualification;
  • Be a Certified Public Accountant / Certified Auditor;
  • Have a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in managing financial and accounting teams/ in a similar position;
  • Have a sound knowledge of the local accounting and tax standards;
  • Be a natural leader who can manage diverse teams simultaneously and effectively through level-headedness and diligence;
  • Be organised and results-oriented
