Senior Software Developer: .NET

Our Client is looking for a highly experienced .NET programmer. We are looking for energetic developers who are keen on working in a dynamic environment within the island of MALTA.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1st degree in computer studies or equivalent, plus other relevant qualifications such as MCAD/MCT
• Strong programming skills and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns. 
• Practical experience with Web or Windows application development 
• Experience in database design and SQL programming
• Practical experience on SQL Server 2000 or 2005
• Strong knowledge of the .NET framework, with a minimum of 2 years on Framework 2.0, plus knowledge of 3.5 
• Understanding of Generics and Unit testing
• Experience using Visual Studio 2008 professional
• Knowledge of object relational mapping, XML web services, and agile development methodologies.
• Experience using version control systems
• Relocation to Malta for the contract period (minimum 6 months) is necessary.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Works independently or in a team, within set guidelines for development of high quality code and SOA artefacts. 
• Develop automated unit testing for all developed code. 
• Mentor other developers on good coding practice and development techniques.
• Participates, reviews, and approves code and design documentation for structured peer reviews / walkthroughs. 
• Come up with and implement development standards and processes to improve quality and speed of output.
• Certify code for quality, maintainability, and performance. 
• Assists in defining requirements and design activities. 
• Required to understand the business and technical requirements, architecture and design specifications and developing the associated application code and associated documentation. 
• May be required to lead Scrum team (Scrum Master)
• Coordinates with all entities involved in software development lifecycle (customer, marketing, management, etc.) 
• Maintains skills in technology areas required by solutions and helps educate/train staff. 
• Candidate must be familiar with Agile development methodologies.

Experience

  Minimum of 3 years of object oriented development experience using C#.NET

PLUS

  3 years PL/SQL and/or SQL.

Candidates that have experience in VB.NET as opposed to C#.NET will also be considered.
